Welcome Winter in Perdido Key!

The air may be crisp, but the sky is clear and the sun always shines on the Key.  There is never a shortage of activities here in Pensacola no matter the season.  Whether you prefer to take a run downtown through the historic district or stop to smell the flowers, Perdido Key has something to offer you!

Run a 5k then reward yourself with a beer!  Every Wednesday at World of Beer Downtown, participants get half off after they earn it.  Stay active and keep moving to avoid the chill this winter, whether it’s every Wednesday at WOB for fun or to gear up for Pensacola Beach Run ½ Marathon, 5K and 10K.  All of the 3 courses are flat and fast.  You can pick the distance you want at the turns-so if you feel great still at the 5K, just keep going for the 10K, or the ½ Marathon!  This event will have runs adjacent to the beaches for all 3 courses.  So get ready for January 11^th.  For details: 850-932-1500

Sure, Perdido Key is an island and we are all about the salt life…. But if you head a few minutes down the road there is Holiday skating for the thrill seekers!  If you are looking for some Holiday fun grab your friends and head to The Wharf.  Your 2 hour rental includes skates for just $8, and for $2 more you could also enjoy a ride on the Ferris Wheel and view the water from the air!  If the actual skating isn’t for you, but you still want to see some ice action, head over to the Pensacola Bay Center for an Ice Flyers game!  Parking is free and gates open an hour before the puck drops.  Details: 850-432-0800

Looking for something more relaxed?  Visit the famed camellias and a winter garden filled with blooms of pansies, violas, primroses, tulips, daffodils, etc.  The Bellingrath Gardens and Home is in Theodore, AL and offers many special events each month.  For details call 251-973-2217
