We all know that little last-minute panic to make sure you have everything you need before hitting the road. This info will hopefully make packing for your upcoming Perdido Key vacation a little easier.
Don’t worry about pots & pans, our vacation homes have fully equipped kitchens with plenty of cookware and utensils.
Paper towels and zippy bags – It's always a good idea to bring an extra roll or two, especially if you’re staying for the week. Also, Ziploc bags are your best friend! They're great for beach snacks, or put your phone in a bag and protect it from the sand!
Often over-packed items are spices, condiments, trash bags, coffee filters, and dish detergent. We always have a couple of dish tabs in the condo and 2 trash bags per trashcan, but you can pick up a small package of dish tabs, the inexpensive multipack of spices and condiments, and any other items at the grocery store on your initial grocery shop. Packing these in your car doesn't really do much good or save and money.
Bonus Pro Tip - Instacart and most grocery delivery services deliver to all of our vacation homes. Line up your delivery for the evening of the day of arrival for extra convenience.
We’ve got you covered for bath towels and linens. Also, we also have bars of soap and a roll of TP in each bathroom, but you'll probably want to pick up extra or bring a couple of rolls along with toiletries and shampoo.
BEACH TOWELS and A roomy beach bag are necessary when visiting Perdido Key. After all, this bag will be the vessel that holds all the other essentials you will need and big beach towels will keep you comfortable all day at the beach. Choose a trendy tote that’s water-resistant with plenty of room for all your accessories and extra-large beach towels. What should go in your beach bag? Sunscreen, lip balm, sunglasses, water bottle, snacks, as well as a waterproof bag for your phone and wallet. Bonus Pro Tip - Your big beach towels shouldn't be white. Instead, pick towels with a print so they don't get mixed up in our bath linens and forgotten when packing to head home.
Whether you’re planning to soak in the sun in a beach chair or take a dip in the Gulf of Mexico, packing a swimsuit is a must! We recommend not just packing one swimsuit but multiple in a variety of styles. That way you will always have a dry suit available and wearing different designs will minimize suntan lines.
When walking to and from the beach from your Perdido Key Vacation Rental, a beach cover-up is great to have! Choose one that is light and easy to pull on for quick coverage. A cover-up also is a good shield from the sun, especially when spending all day at the beach. Bonus Pro Tip - This goes for guys too. Sunburns hurt the same for everyone, so a lightweight long-sleeve fishing shirt is a great manly cover up.
There is nothing worse than getting sand in your shoes and we all know that the beach is no place for socks. Flip flops are essential for getting you to the sand and saving your feet from hot boardwalks or parking lots. Plus, they dry fast if you get them wet and it’s super easy to shake the sand off of them. Choose a pair of fashionable flops and that might be the only pair of shoes you need.
The sun along the Emerald Coast can be strong so shielding your eyes are a must. A hat can be trendy yet efficient, shielding your face from the sun’s rays. Sunglasses will keep you from squinting in the sun thus making sure you don’t come home from your vacation with a few unwanted wrinkles.
Your trip is booked, and your list is made. Now it’s time to start packing. Don’t forget these essentials to make your trip to Perdido Key the best vacation ever!
Reminder - Our vacation homes also include an iron & ironing board, coffee pot, blender, coffee cups, toasters, and all the large kitchen appliances
