Amazing family vacation
by Maegan
★★★★★ 5 of 5
The purple parrot resort village is absolutely amazing. The house that we stayed in was perfect and beautifully decorated! We definitely plan on going back next year. The pool was perfect to bring our toddler and the tiki bar was so much fun and had amazing food! Its also close to so much so you never have to drive far for groceries or a good place to eat. Definitely recommended this beautiful place.

Run down property
by Emily
★★★★★ 5 of 5
My husband and I our three girls rented this unit for six nights. My brother and his family rented the unit across from us and my mother and father rented a unit in a different area of the resort. Our unit was very disappointing Compared to the one my brother rented; his was clean smelled nice and was updates.
The unit had an odor like a pet had been there and also cigarette smoke smell. The decor and flooring were very out dated. The counter tops are not even finished they have a raw plywood edge and the bar/counter has no top it is a 12 inch dry wall ledge. The beds all made extremely loud noises with slight movements, the carpets smelled and were very dingy. We were very dissatisfied and would never recommend this particular property. I try and not rent a vacation property that I consider to be a huge step down from my own home; that being said I would never own such a run down property and would be ashamed to be the owner of this poorly kept house.

nice stay

Overall it was a nice stay, we had problems with our heat and air which took along time to get fixed. Other than that it was good.

Glad you had a good time. Sorry for the trouble with the air, but glad we got it fixed that same day!

It's a great place to be!

It's a great place to be! I would also suggest a pedestrian walkway along the stretch of 292 for long fitness walk or jog.

So glad you enjoyed it here! For long jogs or fitness walks, we would suggest walking along the beautiful Johnsons Beach in the Gulf Island National Seashore!

Beachcomber Bliss 38C
★★★★☆ 4 of 5
What a great location and site. We were impressed with the amenities and how the condo fit all our needs. The photos did a good job of expecting us for what we saw when we got in. The wallpaper didn't deter us but the bathrooms were tough to bathe our child in (18mos) as the tub was too tall for me to lean in and reach. Also, might bring baby gate next time, since the stairs were rather steep. All in all was a great layout and perfect to be so close to the indoor pool. Next time we'll encourage our whole family to stay so we can all live next to each other. Would love to see what the place looks and feels like in the warm months with the pool going. GREAT location and place to stay. We will consider coming again next year!

Thanks for the great review! Next time you come in ask the office if we have a baby gate to use as we often have some baby stuff here in the office. Looking forward to having you back soon! JD Hallam, PKRM Rental Manager

Beautiful and "home away from home" feel!
★★★★★ 5 of 5
The pool area was breathtaking. :))
We enjoyed the fully stocked kitchen, and the convenience of the washer and dryer to wash beach and bath towels was wonderful. The condo was spacious and very comfortable.
Th beds were extremely comfortable, and had plush linens and pillows.
The carpet throughput the upstairs could stand to go...and the tub in the master would be tricky and uncomfortable for some...also had mildew stains...
Overall really great stay

Enjoyable and relaxing
★★★☆☆ 3 of 5
We were pleased with the beachcomber bliss 38c. It was clean and quiet. We enjoyed the pool as well.
It is very convenient to the beach by car and a very short drive.
The unit was clean and had basic kitchen needs.
The bathtub/showers were rather tricky to get into. (No walk in shower, and you have to step up to get over the side and into the tub.)
The queen bed was very uncomfortable and I wound up sleeping on one of the twin beds in the room with my Grandson. They really should replace the queen matress.
The staff was friendly and helpful.

Thanks for taking the time to leave us your review. It was nice having your family stay with us. I'll pass along the feedback concerning the bed to the owner and next time call if the bed isn't just right. We may not be able to get a new mattress, but we can certainly bring over a mattress topper to help make it better suited to your preference on softness. Yes, the tubs in this condo are very deep and this condo doesn't have a walk-in shower, but it's great for soaking and relaxing! Hope to see you again soon. So beautyful, so clean, so fun!
★★★★★ 5 of 5
We, a party of five germans had such a great stay. The condo was very clean and useful equipped. Best of all, we arrived very late by night and the manager was very helpful and handed over the key to friends who arrived earlier. The beach is close and there are lots of restaurants and bars in the area.
Unfortunatelly you have to leave the condo until 10am which is little to early but not really an issue.
The purple parrot is the No 1 choice in Perdido key and we'll come again.

A great experience!
★★★★☆ 4 of 5
We had a great time. The only issues were that the house needed more pots, pans and dishes. The teflon fry pan was worn and not useable. The bricks on the deck at the pool became extremely hot during the day and burned our feet. We recommend that you might think about using a cool deck when you add your new pool area. We have one for our pool and it makes swimming more comfortable with the extreme heat. Just a thought. If we make it back to Pensacola, we will certainly give you a call.

Enjoyable Visit With Family
★★★★★ 5 of 5
We usually stay at our son's house when we come to Pensacola but decided to rent a condo this time. It was really a great visit. We rented a wonderful two bedroom house that was very comfortable and was well decorated. The grounds were beautifully kept and it even has an indoor pool for cold weather visits.
The Purple Parrot is located just over the bridge going from Southwest Pensacola to Orange Beach and is very close to Perdido Key beaches, great restaurants, and shopping. It is a short trip to the Alabama coast and the outlet mall in Foley and the new mall in Orange Beach, AL. Really a convenient location and great rates.
The staff is also very friendly and is there to help in any way they can. We will certainly stay again when we visit our children in Pensacola.

Quiet Resort
★★★★★ 5 of 5
We really enjoyed staying at the Purple Parrot Village Resort. We stayed in 38C "Beachcomber Bliss" and the name is appropriate. The charming cottage was very adequate offering two bedrooms up, one with queen bed, one with twin beds and a sofa sleeper downstairs, and 2 1/2 baths. We really enjoyed the screened in front porch where we played scrabble each night. The surrounding park like setting is beautiful and very private. We also enjoyed the other facilities at the resort. We loved the pool with water fall, very tropical feel. There were plenty of lounge chairs at the pool as well. We also utilized the fitness room. It is well equiped with treadmill, eliptical, stationary bike and circuit weight machine. The cottage had two beach chairs and one beach umbrella which was nice. It also included a pass to Johnson Beach which is quite possibly one of the most beautiful spots in this country. We can't wait to return to Perdido Key and we will stay at the Purple Parrot Resort again.

Great deal!
★★★★★ 5 of 5
We stayed at Beachcomber Bliss 38C in May, before the rates went up for the summer, and thought it was a bargain! The house had adequate kitchen supplies, as well as movies, games, and beach amenities (including a Johnson Beach pass). It was perfect for our family with two young children. The house could use new carpet and some fresh paint on the stairway and second floor, but that is a minor detail and did not affect our stay!
The home was described accurately online, and we were not disappointed. We look forward to returning next summer!

Pure bliss!
★★★★☆ 4 of 5
The closet doors in one of the bedrooms in the condo need to be repaired as you can't hang clothes in there. The condo was very nice and had everything we needed. There were 2 umbrellas and 5 chairs which saved us a lot of money as we didn't have to buy any. The resort itself is really nice and the staff were very friendly. Would definitely stay at the Purple Parrot again!

Great place to relax and get away
★★★★★ 5 of 5
Stayed here with family and friends. We were just looking for a place by the beach to get away for a bit. The staff was a great help and the different houses are well taken care of.
We really enjoyed the bar at the pool and had a great time while there. Nothing negative to say about this location and would reccommend it to anyone looking to relax.

Beautiful, well arranged home
★★★★★ 5 of 5
My Sister and I, and teenage daughter and son found Beachcomber Bliss clean, neat and beautifully decorated. The screened front porch was the most enjoyable for me and Sis, relaxing and talking, while teenagers enjoyed the pool. We spent 4 days at this home and enjoyed every moment. When we were leaving to come back to Alabama, it seemed as though we were leaving a new friend behind.
We highly recommend Beachcomber Bliss for a stay. It truly is like your home away from home.

Beachcomber Bliss; not Blissful
★★★☆☆ 3 of 5
1. The air conditioner was very loud outside the twin bedroom window, and it kept me awake every night. It was not a restful vacation!
2. We never were able to find the Wireless connection for the internet for our laptop computer. We chose that cottage specifically because they claimed they had that.Every time we went by the office to get help, no one was available, or no one was there.
3. The bathtubs were quite dirty and we had to clean them before we could bathe. The bathroom floors were not very clean either. Apparently, someone had helped themselves to the towels & bath cloths, as there were not enough for us, and there were only three of us.
4. It would be nice if paper towels and or paper napkins would be provided in the kitchen.
5. My bed was one of the twin ones, and the mattress was VERY uncomfortable, so I went to the store and bought a foam mattress cover.
6. We asked if our four grandchildren and four adult children could come sit by the pool with us, and take turns using the pool. We had been welcomed to do that in the past when our daughter stayed at Purple Parrot. We were told we would not have enough passes.
We did like the spaciousness of the cottage, and the location of Purple Parrot. The TV in the living room was a nice size, but there is no TV in the largest bedroom. We liked the outdoor bar, as long as we could get to a table where there was no one smoking. The service there was non-existent, so we went up to the bar and ordered our drinks. No one ever came over to our table. The live music was a great and welcomed touch!
We probably would not return. If the service had been better, or someone had been more attentive, we may have worked out the problems, and things might have been okay.

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your valuable feedback. Our sincerest apologies for your dissatisfaction. As it is evident through more than 95% of our reviews throughout the web, we strive to provide our guests with excellent customer service even going as far as to ensure that all guests are provided with the Manager's personal cell phone number upon check-in to address any issues promptly. Our hands are tied concerning the pool passes as that is now regulated by Florida Statue and I am sure that once that this occurred the tone of the trip was less than perfect. However, if you find yourselves willing to try the Purple Parrot again please ask for JD so that I am certain you are taken care of properly each and every time you visit the Purple Parrot Village Resort.
