Went to the beach today around 11:00 am and once again it was beautiful. There were some seaweed on the high tide line but no signs of tar or oil. We have really been blessed on our section of the beach. The sun is shining and guests were enjoying the water and the sun. There was a seagull wading in the shallows and he looked white and fluffy and seemed to be finding plenty to eat. Continue reading

Checked the beach today and it was beautiful. The sand was very white and the seaweed has been cleaned up. There was no sign of tar balls or oil on the sand or washing up in the water. I was happy to see the Periwinkles still washing up in the waves and quickly burrowing in the sand. It is a normal hot July day and most people on the beach were in the water. The Temperature is 92 degrees but it feels much warmer in the sun. Luckily we still have that great breeze blowing that makes it enjoyable. The air continues to smell fresh and salty . It is a great day to be on the beach or in the pool! Continue reading

We are having a sunny hot day at the beach. The temperature is already 91 degrees, but luckily we still have that great breeze. I did not see any tar balls or oil on the beach or washing up in the tide today. The air smells very salty with the high humidity. We still had some seaweed coming in but not as much as yesterday. The clean up crews are still doing a great job cleaning up any debris on the beach. It is a great day to have your toes in the water. Continue reading

The weather today was sunny and 87 degrees with a nice breeze blowing on the beach. We had some small waves washing up a just a few small (smaller than a dime) tar balls - had to really scan the beach to find them. The high tide brought in a large amount of sea weed and the people that are cleaning our beach are picking that up as well as any tar or oil. Guests were still enjoying the beach and have said they are glad they came. The air still smells fresh and salty. I hope you have a chance to come down and enjoy the beautiful weather! The folks from the Perdido Sun front desk checked out our beach today and sent me an update. Things are still beautiful! They saw 1 small tar ball in the high tide line that was about 1/8 of an inch in diameter. Guests are saying how beautiful everything is and they are so glad they came. We continue to have sunny weather and the temp. was 92 degrees with light winds. Continue reading

Good afternoon, The air smells fresh and salty and the sun is shining. We are still having that great breeze coming off the water with small breaking waves. I did not see any oil or tar balls on the beach or in the water. Guests and owners are having a great time fishing in the surf. The only bad thing about sending out this report today is having to come back inside. Let's hope the weather continues to cooperate. Continue reading
